In early summer, when people in the "safe zone" of Gorazde were dying, scouts and allied soldiers in Germany were collecting tens of thousands of frogs in cans and carrying them across roads so that they might not be run over. The frogs were saved and are now sleeping through the winter. The people in Bosnia whom the scouts couldn't and the soldiers didn't want to help will not awaken next summer - they have been killed, are being killed and remain dead.
