The state crisis, the certainty of dissolution of the ruling coalition in Serbia, which is still called 'opposition' (DOS - the Democratic Opposition of Serbia), the dilemma of changing the constitution before or after the elections... There are some key compromises to be reached in the transitional period, which is getting shorter and shorter every day: it is the decision on the future of the federal state, one or two constitutions, one statute, several laws on state reforms, one electoral law...

One year after Belgrade's October 5 and the collapse of Milosevic's regime, no question is more awkward than - what has the new government achieved on the economic plan. In answering that question, the most accurate thing to say is that on the positive side of the annual economic balance, the new government didn't achieve all that we expected it to, and on the negative side of that balance everything that caused logical fears as being unavoidable in times of late reforms also didn't occur. However, pessimists can say that they scored better than the optimists

If the Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS) falls apart, as it clearly promises to do, I can hardly say that I expect fanatical supporters of Zoran Djindjic, Serbian Prime Minister and leader of the Democratic Party (DS), and of Vojislav Kostunica, President of Yugoslavia and leader of the most popular political party in Serbia, the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), to raise up arms and to assail the Federal Parliament, the way they did a year ago. Revolutionary behavior clearly does not threaten to become part of our daily life
