Cele, Zuca, Azdaja...
Despite the efforts of some officers to prevent massacres, members of certain unidentified and armed paramilitary groups murdered many Muslims, regardless of age or health.
However, the army packed most of the Muslims from the surrounding Muslim villages on the left bank of the Drina River, where many Muslims were also killed, onto convoys headed for Gorazde, with little children in their arms and a few bundles of personal possessions. Their houses, animals and any possessions of value were plundered in record time.
Even windows, doors, window frames...
Things were even worse in Zvornik and its surrounding area.
This area was ravaged by frightening hordes during May of 1992: Cele's patriots, Peje-Ciganin's men, Lainovic's guard, Bokan's "White Eagles", Zuca's squad, the Interventionist Squad, Azdaja's men, special units of the Republic of Serb Krajina, the Silent Liquidation Squad....
Murderer after murderer.
It was as if they all had one assignment: to liquidate everything that was not Serbian.
Even those few Serbs that had lived in these Muslim villages are silent about these massacres. The deserted Muslim villages of Redzici, Lonjin, Krasanpolje, Rzine, Dzafici... were burned to the ground.
Even today RS authorities will not allow those seeking to find out what happened to even enter this area.
It is unofficially believed that one of the largest massacres of Muslims in Bosnia-Herzegovina was carried out that spring.
It is hard to believe, considering the synchronization, that ethnic cleansing (accompanied by plundering) was not the primary assignment of the paramilitary groups, given by who knows who.
Surviving witnesses speak with certainty about Dusan Vuckovic, allegedly a member of a group called "The Yellow Ants": "He murdered innocent civilians in a large number of camps in Zvornik and surrounding villages. He identified men by pulling off their underwear (to see if they were circumcised).
In Karakaj and Pilica he and his henchmen killed 720 civilians in two days. On June 10 he came to the cultural center in Celopecka with Major Toro and Captain Zoran.
They left us at dawn, leaving Alija and Hasan Atrlic, Saban and little Damir Bikic, Nurija Hadziavdic, Salih and Husein, Sakiba Kapidzic, Himza Kursumovic, Zaim Pezerovic and Aziz Tuhcic dead... They killed a total of 11 people with knives, wooden canes and sticks..."
