Yu Merry-Go-Round

RADOMAN BOZOVIC, the new Serbian prime minister, says in his interview to "Epoha": "If anything is clear today, it is the politics of Slobodan Milosevic with regards to the Serbian question in the solution of the Yugoslav crisis".

ANTONIJE ISAKOVIC, a Serbian writer and a Socialist MP, says to "Epoha": "Just as we Serbs sit on the throne of the Balkans, so Germany sits on the throne of Europe. Just as many neighbouring countries dislike us, so the European peoples detest the Germans. The German and the Serbian peoples share, in terms of their geo-political position, a very similar fate, but still, we have always been on the opposite sides, and we are so now."

ZDRAVKO TOMAC, the vice-president of the Croatian government, says to "Vecernji list": "Milosevic has lost the war in Croatia. If he proves to be

unable to gain new territories, which means creating a mini-Yugoslavia or a Greater Serbia, if he fails to get even a part of Bosnia, or Montenegro, and bearing in mind that he has managed to turn the whole world against Serbia and himself and that Serbs had such extensive casualties, than a change of power in Serbia is inevitable. We could even witness another Bucharest. MARTIN SPEGELJ, the Inspector General of the Croatian army, says to "Globus": "Vukovar was not taken by the federal army. Vukovar represents the great victory of the Croatian army. The aggressor entered Vukovar defeated. The aggressor is not in charge of Vukovar even today. We, the citizens of Croatia, are proud of Vukovar and its citizens".

Pick of the Week:

"Montenegro is not, as a state, based on its economic strength, but on victory, which represents its historical category. If you take that away from Montenegro, there will be nothing left."

ILIJA LAKUSIC, the Montenegrin minister of culture
