The politics of the present

Serbian government has been a complete disaster in every way. The Serbian political leadership carries full responsibility for the fact that the Serbs have fared worst in the Yugoslav disintegration process.

Its politics has failed completely. No one is willing to put up any longer with the uncertain future, misery and desperation, the squandering of public property, unemployment, physical threats and the deception of the public.

The time has now come for the people in power to be put in the clearing. Since the president of Serbia Slobodan Milosevic carries the greatest responsibility, we hereby ask of him to step back from power.

The Democratic Party deems it necessary for Serbia to hold the elections for the Constituent Assembly if it wants to embark on the road to recovery, the Parliament would then determine the future political framework in Serbia and its national and state interest. We appeal to all free thinking patriots, to all the political parties, to all the institutions and associations throughout Serbia to sign these two requests.
