Media

The image of the ideologically correct electronic media space is disturbed only by Radio B 92. But everyone has the right to disturb and be disturbed. The task to disturb, or more accurately the obligation to suppress provocative information of this radio-diffuse institution, with changeable intensity and success, is done by the units of the national army (VJ), equipped for "counter-electronic action that for longer or shorter periods of time incapacitate operations of the radio electronic equipment" (Colonel M.A. Dusan Bajac: "The Electronic Battle in the Antiaircraft Defence", Belgrade 1986, p. 95). "The principle of incapacitation is based on the fact that each receptive radio-electronic device receives not only useful signals but also various signals that have the same or approximate wavelengths, that is, the same or approximate radio frequencies." In short, by means of appropriate transmitter (disrupter) the signals are broadcast that produce weakening, deformation or total disappearance of useful signals...

Editor in chief Veran Matic had no special comments about the mentioned occurrence of incapacitation of the signals of Radio B 92, stressing that this station anyway has the problem with audibility, especially in the hilly parts of Belgrade.

There is also a TV station that feels the consequences of "the counter-electronic action of VJ": BK telecom, which was allocated channel 12 in the last reallocation of frequencies (which was known as the military frequency. At the time of the actions (during the broadcast of the political and informative shows of B 92) this TV station also receives a "useless" (for someone perhaps useful) signal, which in their case, is manifested as noise and zig-zag pulsing lines, demonstrating perhaps the activities of the army.

Feast

The party in power, with its pendants, opens capital edifices all over Serbia - all dry fountains have started functioning, there are more telephones pre capita than there are kilometers of roads per legs, but there are also roads... Especially when rallies are at full speed and when the thrilled people must be repeatedly informed that there is no alternative to the current authorities. Valjevo had also its turn at the occasion of putting into operation a 4,608 meter long beltway - whose construction lasted for the last 20 years. Prime Minister Mirko Marjanovic was announced to be honored to open it. The preparations cost enormously (even the pensioners were brought in two buses at the expense of the community), but the Prime Minister canceled his appearance in the last minute. This special task was confided to the Minister of Traffic Svetolik Kostadinovic. It was obvious on the spot why the whole thing was left to the portfolio minister. The citizens that have been asking for the compensation for the expropriated land for several years, greeted the minister and his entourage (Kostadinovic, the vice president Babic, Brcin and the candidates for the representatives in the electoral unit Valjevo headed with Milomir Minic), laying on the road, spitting on them (literally) and exclaiming "thieves, thieves". The action of the citizens who suffered a loss was obviously seen through, so Marjanovic was spared the capital welcome at the capital edifice.

Sport and Entertainment

After the May Days of Belgrade in Podgorica, and on the eve of the federal elections, the return visit of Podgorica in Belgrade happened last week. The peak of this manifestation of the members of the ruling party (if we exclude the feast arranged in the Club of Studio B) were the revenge matches in soccer (mali fudbal?) and basketball. The expectations of the hosts (enforced with a few players) that they will succeed to enhance the score were in vain. First the visitors from Podgorica (led by Svetozar Marovic) gave the hosts the lesson in soccer (2:1), which the goalkeeper of the defeated team Milenko Kasanin commented bitterly in resignation: "Since we've been playing together we make the same mistakes. We leave the men ahead, and then receive the goal from the counter attack."

The basketball match was more promising. The names of Bulatovic, Covic, Djukanovic, Tijanic etc., were to guarantee the attractiveness and interest. However, not even the engagement of the heavy "anchorman" Tijanic could disturb the overzealous Bulatovic, who scored 20 points. Moreover, in the end the visitors from Podgorica made the gentlemanly maneuver to allow Covic and the comrades to move from 27 points difference to the bearable 9 (81:72).

The stands of the sports court Pionir were missing the announced great visit, and among barely over 500 spectators (with special passes) the young socialists were especially outstanding with their cheers. The new refrain was launched: "We are red - we are the strongest, the strongest...," which was apparently insufficient to awake their favorites.

Machinations

Republika Srpska is the promised land through which many citizens of SRY obtain cars. The unit of the Serbian entity in Bosnia is even more promising to those that have created such an atmosphere. That evidence is offered by the "automobile incident" at the top of RS's MUP. The driver of Petko Budisa, the chief of the Department for Analytics at the RS's MUP, Zeljko Gligorijevic, was recently arrested in Bijeljina. As we find out, Gligorevic has, together with Drasko Samardija (who is also arrested), organized the stealing of the Golf owned by his department. Although a civilian, Samardzija departed for Serbia with the order signed by Budisa. On the occasion of the arrest, a 1994 Volvo was taken from Budisa's driver Gligorijevic and was purchased at the station of public security in Bijeljina on the name of Zeljko Cosic. It was purchased only for DM 4,000 although its value is DM 50,000. Immediately afterwards, Budisa identified himself as the owner and took the car. Being as such, the case has been withdrawn from the procedure, and the further activities of the Office of Public Security on the case have been stopped. And why should not it be so, when Budisa's position guarantees the origin of Volvo, which is, however, of no known origin.
