Demolition in Sarajevo

It is known, in Sarajevo for sure, if not in other places because of the blockade and isolation of Sarajevo, that the district of the Old Town has suffered the most in this war. From the first days of aggression against Sarajevo, it has been exposed to artillery and mortar attacks. Shots are fired at random. Not even Bas-carsija, the pearl of Sarajevo's and Bosnia's cultural and historical heritage, has been spared. The Beg's Mosque (the largest mosque in the town) has been hit and damaged. Part of Bas-carsija has been burned down. Many houses have also been burned down along with the Central Post Office in Sarajevo with its 45,000 telephone lines. That which survived two World Wars, was destroyed in a night.
