Thursday, July 16
Podgorica.  A new Government of Montenegro has been elected with Filip Vujanovic as Premier.
The Assembly of the Republic of Montenegro decided that the law on electing federal members of parliament to the Assembly of the Republics is “entirely in accordance with the constitution of Yugoslavia.”
Pristina.  In the seat of the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo (DSK) a parallel parliament of Kosovo’s Albanians has been constituted.  Idriz Ajeti has been elected as its president.  At the conclusion of the parliamentary session, State Security inspectors entered the DSK chambers, appropriating all materials pertaining to the activities of the parliament.
London.  London’s Club of Commercial Holders reached an agreement with Yugoslavia on restructuring its 1,711 billion dollar debt.
Belgrade.  More than two thousand pensioners protested in front of the Parliament Building of the Government of Serbia.

Friday, July 17
St. Petersburg.  The burial ceremony for the last Russian tsar, Nicholas II Romanov, and his family was held in the Shrine of St. Peter and St. Pavle.
Washington.  The American Senate adopted a non-binding resolution which designates Slobodan Milosevic as a war criminal.

Saturday, July 18
Zagreb.  Croatian Ambassador to the UN, Ivan Simonovic, stated that Croatia will not settle for haggling over its borders.  “Belgrade’s proposal harbors ambitions for changing borders, and it is precisely such ambitions that resulted in war.”
Osijek.  The Assembly of the Regional Court decided to discontinue its process on sentencing Vojislav Seselj, Milan Paroski, and Jovo Ostojic to prison terms.  Seselj still continues to be held responsible for various war crimes.
Belgrade.  The Annual Assembly of the Democratic Party was held.  Zoran Djindjic was elected as president.
Rome.  At a United Nations Conference a statute was adopted, establishing an international criminal court.
Zagreb.  Jutarnji list published the results of a public opinion poll on the most prominent Croatians of the millennium, according to which Josip Broz Tito is in the first place, Franjo Tudjaman is a close second, while Nikola Tesla is in third place.
Papua New Guinea.  More than five thousand people lost their lives in three wave surges which left 30 kilometers of the shore under water.

Monday, July 20
Belgrade.  The first congress of the JUL Political Party was held in the Center “Sava”.  Ljubisa Ristic was elected president, while Mirjana Markovic was elected president of the directorship.
Pristina.  The Human Rights Committee of Kosovo’s Albanians issued a statement that “Serbian forces” killed 469 Albanians since the beginning of this year.

Tuesday, July 21
Tirana.  Albanian Police confiscated around four tons of infantry armaments and arrested two people who were transporting it toward the Yugoslav border, stated a press representative of the Ministry of Domestic Affairs.
Belgrade.   The German government allotted 1.35 million DEM for aid to refugees in Yugoslavia, stated the German Embassy.
Yugoslavia has officially demanded that Argentina deport Nada Sakic, who is accused of genocide and war crimes during the Second World War on the territories of FRY.
In the first five months of this year, 25,241 enterprises were continually insolvent.

Wednesday, July 22
Tirana.  In conflicts between Serbian Forces and Kosovo’s Albanians, on Tuesday granades fell on Albanian territory, which is the second such incident since Saturday, stated the Albanian Ministry of Domestic Affairs (MUP). But according to the words of the MUP spokesman, “it appears that the artillery attacks were not directed at Albanian territory.”
Belgrade.  After signing the agreement with the London Club, the price of the Yugoslav Debt went up from 25 cents to a dollar, to 32 cents to a dollar.
