THURSDAY, JULY 23
Palermo The young Yugoslav basketball team took first place in the European Championships for players up to 22 years of age.
Belgrade The Republic of Serbia’s main office for real estate announced an auction for the sale of 17 villas, the aksing price is 9.36 million marks.
The Administrative Board of the Fund for Health Insurance of Serbia removed ICN “Galenika” medication from the list of drugs that can be obtained by recept.
Nis The prosecutor’s office publically issued charges against Branko Todorovic, also known as Bata Bane, for the misuse of his administrative position with the intent of aquiring the use of real estate.
Prijedor SFOR soldiers mistakenly arrested two young men, intending to arrest Predrag and Nenad Banovic, former guards at the Keraterm detention camp. The arrested were taken to the Hague where an identification check confirmed that they are innocent.

FRIDAY, JULY 24
Podgorica The government of Montenegro does not recognize any decisions of the federal government, not even the decision to widen the border beld, announced Vice-President Novak Killbarda
Belgrade Slobodan Santrac, coach of the Yugoslav soccer team, suggested that Radomir Antic take his place.
Bratislava Morina, Commissioner for Refugees in the Serbian government, said that in Kosovo and from Kosovo “there are about 40,000 people of all nationailties temporarily placed”.
Buenos Aires Argentinian police arrested the wife of Dinko Sakic, Nada Sakic, in Santa Teresita.

SUNDAY, JULY 26
Belgrade The city was left without pubic transportation after workers called a strike. The city government brought out working obligation in GSP, but workers who refused to work wold be suspended or would by terminated by GSP, said Belgrade Parliamnet’s  secretary for information.

MONDAY, JULY 27
Minhen Zlatko Cajkovksi (1923), former Partisan and Yugoslav soccer player, died.
Pristina The United Nations High Commisioner for Refugees announced that due to the conflict in Kosovo more than 107,000 people were left homeless.

TUESDAY, JULY 28
Belgrade Upon completion of GSP strike, the city government fired two directors, but also announced that 25 strike organizers would also be fired.
Hague Esad Landzo (25), accused of being a guard in the Celebici detention camp, one of the four accused of crimes against Serb civillians, confessed before the Tribunal that he committed the crimes “under orders”.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 29
Athens The World Basketball Championships begin.
Belgrade Radomir Antic refused to take Slobodan Santrac’s place as coach of the Yugoslav team.
