BORA DJORDJEVIC, rock singer and song-writer, performed poorly at the so-called elections in which he ran as a People's Party candidate. Somewhat more interesting than his defeat is the sentence which Mr. Djordjevic's pals used to persuade people to sign for his nomination in his constituency: "You know, he is the candidate of the opposition, but not of that one, but of the one which is not against the Government".

MARKO NEGOVANOVIC, Serbian Defense Minister, told the following to Duga magazine: "Regardless of everything, we who wish to live in Yugoslavia will get everything that we are prepared to take and defend it with a sword. This must be made clear to everyone. Wherever our soldier sets foot and manages to stay, these territories can also be defended politically".

ZORAN SOKOLOVIC, Serbian Minister of Internal Affairs, said to the weekly, NIN: "When going to jail, a citizen ought to do it in an exemplary way".
