Books

This year the University Library in Belgrade managed to purchase only one book from abroad. Since the beginning of June, mail from abroad has been reduced to only a few foreign reviews, mostly from East European countries; E-mail service has been canceled as well as access to worldwide database services; most university libraries from abroad have canceled the regular exchange of publications. The Library still maintains contacts with the British and American Cultural Centers, but as has already happened with the French and German Centers, these will also probably close. The usual yearly "inflow" of foreign books and publications to university libraries in Europe and the States is about 2,000 and 1,500 respectively.
