Dear Mr. President,

The book "Dear Mr. President" - a collection of some 50 letters sent to Western statesmen - was presented in the Belgrade International Press Centre last week. The authors of the letters are all tried advocates of the Serbian cause. Vreme carries the most interesting excerpts from the letters:

"Dear Presidents of the West, East, North and South,

Gentlemen, I am an Engineer of Forestry, so it is understandable I am not inured to politics. I only know you and your policy will become history, while Serbs will endure all temptations and resurrect in a united state...

Extremely rare flora grows on Mt. Kopaonik, the richest and most beautiful mountain - the precious endemics (Pinus peuce and Pinus heldreihi). The mountain is full of lead, zinc and gold. In the spring, summer and autumn, Mt. Kopaonik is diaphanous, full of fresh air. Eagles and hawks fly through its forests. In the winter, it is a ski haven. Come and meet the people. A Nordic saw them as descendants of Scandinavians, red hair, tall, blue-eyed. Mt. Kopaonik has been destroyed by earthquakes, I trust your planes will spare it....

There are still old oaks standing in Serbia and there is a legend connected to each rare tree. Serbs used to rally round them to agree on how to fight the occupying forces. There are also the Scripts under which Serbs pray to the Almighty in summer to send them rain, prosperity and peace.

And, here I am writing back, so you will be unable to say you had not known of the Serbian script and the Slav script, the script made up of elementary particles of Truth. This Truth will crush you and the empire of your "new" order...

What you have done, you, the regent of the empire of evil and your combatants in the field of pseudo-democracy, pseudo-informing and genuine war-mongering, is the greatest crime against mankind. Your hands will remain bloody forever, stained by the blood of hundreds of thousands of human victims of a same people of three faiths, who died at your stake, the stake of the dreadful "New Order". You bring unhappiness to mankind, you are the clerks in the tragedy of our people and the creators of World War III, a war to establish the "New World Order". The caricatures of history in the shapes of Tudjman and Izetbegovic with their religious fanatics are merely second-rate criminals, they are war criminals, while you, gentlemen, and you, my pitiful* collocutor, have elevated them to the pedestal of "truth".
