Issue 12 - December 16, 1991

Ambassador Perin explains why the EC mission has come to Belgrade, despite the fact that no war is taking place in Serbia; he highlits the goals of the mission and the elementary fact that members of the EC can not be attacked or harassed:

Dr. Dragutin Zelenovic, Prime Minister of Srbia, resigned on December 11th, at a meeting of his Cabinet. His resignation was accepted by the Serbian Parliament, with little, if any, comment. Since Slobodan Milosevic came to power in Serbia, Zelenovic is the third prime minister who has resigned before the expiration of his term.

Jaroslav Jastrebov has become a media personality in Serbia the instant someone realized that he represents the only international support to the just cause of the Serbian people. It turned out that only this tiny Russian really understood what the Serbia of today wants.

Sarajevo (the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina) is expected to stage its own Hague conference on the republic level, though nobody knows as yet when. The Serbian Assembly of this republic has officially invited the two other parties in power, the Party of Democratic Action and the Croatian Democratic Unionto join in the negotiations concerning the position of Bosnia and Herzegovina in what will be left of Yugoslavia. Surprising the masses, who are by now used to the treacherous behaviour of our politicians, those who were invited came, BUT...

"The independant state of Slovenia will need seven to ten billion dollars in financial aid from the West; only then would Slovenia's economy be able to establish itself on the European market. It is not yet clear whether the European Community, or any of its members, is interested in providing financial aid to Slovenia."

The Army is finding it hard to handle the publicity since its idea of propaganda is hoplessely outdated. The Slovenian experience and the war in Croatia did not make a change either concerning the people or their ideas: the Army is behaving in the same fashion it did in the past 45 years.
