"Crystal Bars", the latest novel of Mirko Kovac, once a writer from Belgrade, now a writer from Rovinj (croatia), is soon to appear in the local bookstores. Kovac tells Vreme what literature he belongs to, the emphasis on the differences between the Serbian and Croatian languages, the reasons for the conflicts in Yugoslavia, the intellectuals, nationalists. Kovac won two eminent prizes in the past two years: the Swedish PEN's International Award and Herder's Award, the most distinguished German prize for literature, architecture, music and art.
